Simple Chai Latte

I love me a cup of hot cocoa when the weather gets cold and dark, but for many reasons it’s not very good for me. This one is a guilt-free substitute that offers a similar kind of soft sweater hugging comfort.

 
 
 

Ingredients

1 stick of Cinnamon

4 Cloves

4 pods of Cardamom

6 Star Anise

4 big slices of fresh Ginger

1tsp of loose leaf Black Tea

1L Water

Milk or Nut Milk to taste

Place all the spices into a pan with the water and boil for 5 minutes. Then add the black tea and boil for another additional 3.

Strain into a cup and add a splash of milk or nut milk to taste.

Personally I drink it without sweetener - The relatively large amount of star anise adds a natural sweetness. However if you have a sweet tooth, you can of course add some sweetener to taste as well.
